A man who rents an escort service on the popular escort site escorts.com to pay for sex has been charged with prostitution and sex trafficking.
The arrest came after a two-year investigation into an alleged sexual assault of a woman who was paid to perform for men.
According to Miami-Dade police, the woman reported the incident to police after she was lured to a hotel room by a man posing as a woman.
The man who allegedly paid for the escort service is a Miami man who was also arrested in July, authorities said.
Authorities say the man is being charged with first-degree sex trafficking and prostitution.
The investigation is ongoing.
The case is being handled by the Miami-Hollywood Police Department.
Escort service owner, Michael Hinojosa, was arrested at his Florida home and released after posting $1,500 bail, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities believe Hinoijosa was involved in the trafficking of a 15-year-old girl, police said.
He was also charged with second-degree possession of a controlled substance and second-grade grand theft.
He faces a minimum of 10 years in prison.
The Miami-Palm Beach County district attorney’s office said Hinojiosa was not charged with any of the charges.
Authorities are not recommending any charges against the man.
The Palm Beach Sheriff’s office did not release details of the alleged victim, but said the girl was a minor.
The Escort Service is not the only escort service that is facing a potential sex trafficking charge.
Miami-based escort services were shut down in the wake of the Harvey Weinstein sexual harassment scandal.
A total of five of the escort services in Florida have been shuttered or shuttered, and more than 70 people have been arrested in the investigation, including at least two men.
Escorts were also closed in New York and San Francisco, and at least a dozen other escort services have been temporarily closed in the U.S. In New York City, where two men were arrested in a separate investigation involving prostitution, the city’s Sex Crimes Task Force arrested a man and a woman, authorities announced Thursday.
Authorities also said at least three men and a women have been charged in the case.
Authorities said the man allegedly paid the woman $50,000 for sex.
The men are accused of offering to drive a woman from a Harlem apartment to a beachside hotel and sexually assaulting her.
A fourth man is also charged.
Authorities have not released the names of the other women.
